Reginald Titus Jr. provides a crucial update on the Filmmaker Commentary podcast’s recent pause, explaining the team’s work on a new film distribution project. Get the scoop on upcoming episodes, what to expect next, and how you can contribute your voice to future discussions.

Reginald Titus Jr. kicks off this episode of Filmmaker Commentary with a candid and important update, addressing the recent two-week hiatus. He shares that the podcast’s brief pause was due to an intensive period working on film distribution, specifically for “Natural Hair the Movie,” a project he and Casey G. Smith are producing. This significant endeavor took them to Atlanta, where they’ve been immersed in new developments for the film, explaining the temporary break in regular podcast releases. Reginald expresses regret for not communicating the pause sooner but assures listeners that the podcast is actively back on track.

Good news for fans: three new episodes are already lined up and will be released this week, though he notes they might feel slightly dated given they were recorded prior to the recent work on “Natural Hair the Movie.” Looking ahead, Reginald is eager to tap into the current football season, planning to cover some classic football-themed movies complete with insightful commentary that aligns with the spirit of the sport. He also extends a warm invitation to the audience, encouraging them to send in their film suggestions via Facebook and Instagram DMs, ensuring the show reflects listener interests.

The episode also serves as a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated listeners. Reginald emphasizes the significant impact of reviews and comments left on various podcast platforms like Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, and Stitcher. These interactions aren’t just appreciated; they’re crucial for understanding what content resonates most with the audience and for helping the show reach new listeners. Your feedback directly influences the types of movies and discussions featured on Filmmaker Commentary. He wraps up by teasing the next exciting episode, which will feature a commentary on the acclaimed film “Training Day.” This comprehensive update reassures the audience that while life and film production can bring temporary pauses, the commitment to engaging film discussion remains strong.

Welcome and Production Update
Reginald Titus Jr.: Hey guys, this is Reginald Titus Jr. from Filmmaker Commentary. I'm reaching out to you just to give you a quick update. We have not left anywhere. The reason that the show, we haven't had any new episodes in the last two weeks, is because we actually, me and a couple of the other producers from a film that we're currently in the process of distributing, we had went out to Atlanta. We have a lot of new things that are developing from our current movie project. It's called Natural Hair the Movie.

The "Natural Hair" Movie Project
Reginald Titus Jr.: And you can follow that on Instagram at @NaturalHairtheMovie, just to kind of see what we've been doing and, you know, what I do outside of the podcast. Also, Casey is a producer on that project. But I just wanted to kind of give you a quick update, what we've been up to. We have not abandoned the podcast, we just had two weeks off. I should have given you an update before we went out of town, but I want to quickly give you this update.

Podcast Schedule and Upcoming Content
Reginald Titus Jr.: We have three shows that are in queue, so I'm working on knocking those out this week. So those new segments will be a little bit dated. I'm eager to get to some new movies because we're in football season. I want to cover some football movies. There's some cool football movies with commentary that I definitely want to check out.

Listener Engagement and Feedback
Reginald Titus Jr.: Also, if you have any suggestions on any films, you can hit us up at facebook.com/filmmakercommentary, get on Instagram at @FilmmakerCommentary. Thanks for always checking us out, downloading an episode, going to iTunes, Apple Podcasts, leaving reviews 'cause those help out a lot. Also, if you go to SoundCloud or Stitcher, however you listen to your podcast, just on those platforms, please leave us reviews, any suggestions 'cause sometimes we don't know who's listening. We do have some listeners that reach out and give us suggestions, but that's not always the case. So it's very much appreciated when you can leave a review, leave comments, let us know what episodes you like and what movies you would like us to cover, of course, if it has commentary.
